Do you know who questioned the rigid rituals and outward show of both Hinduism and Islam nearly 600 years ago?
It was Satguru Kabir Saheb, a great spiritual master who revealed a true path of devotion (Sat Bhakti Marg) beyond the boundaries of religion.
This spiritual path is known as Kabir Panth (The Path of Kabir). Rather than promoting any particular religion, Kabir Panth is based on devotion to Kabir Saheb as the True Satguru, whom followers regard as the means to liberation (moksha). Kabir Saheb never advocated religious conversion; instead, he exposed the inner limitations of all religions and emphasized spiritual truth. This is why his followers even today come from diverse religious backgrounds.
The sacred Vedas provide evidence that the Poorna Parmatma (Supreme God) appears in every age in a physical form, descending from His eternal abode Satlok.
His divine radiance is said to be greater than the combined light of millions of suns and moons. The Supreme God comes to Earth to meet virtuous souls and guide them on the true path of devotion.
Those enlightened souls who realized this Supreme God confirmed through their writings that the Owner of all creation is One. Across different scriptures and languages, He is known by various names:
Kavi Dev – in the Holy Vedas (Sanskrit)
Hakka Kabir – in Shri Guru Granth Sahib (Page 721)
Sat Kabir / Bandi Chhor Kabir – in the verses of Sant Garibdas Ji and Sant Dharmdas Ji
Kabira / Khabiran – mentioned in the Holy Quran Sharif (Surah Furqan 25: Ayat 19, 21, 52, 58, 59)
Sant Garibdas Ji glorified Him with these powerful words:
गरीब जिसकुं कहत कबीर जुलाहा।
सब गति पूर्ण अगम अगाहा ।।
Kabir Panth refers to the spiritual path taught by Kabir Saheb. A follower of this path is known as a Kabirpanthi.
This path places supreme importance on recognizing the True Satguru and living according to His teachings, rather than blindly following rituals or traditions.
Among the foremost disciples of Kabir Saheb was Seth Dhani Dharmdas Ji. However, his elder son Narayan Das was actually an agent of Kaal (the ruler of the material realm).
When Dharmdas Ji became emotionally attached to his son, Kabir Saheb revealed Narayan Das’s true form, freeing him from illusion.
Grace of Kabir Saheb
To relieve Dharmdas Ji’s worries, Kabir Saheb assured him that a new lineage dedicated to human welfare would continue through him.
By divine command, Dharmdas Ji was blessed with an auspicious son
His lineage would continue for 42 generations
This divinely granted son was named Shri Chudamani Ji
Due to jealousy, Narayan Das developed hostility toward Chudamani Ji, which forced Shri Chudamani Ji to leave Bandhavgarh and settle in Kudurmala (Madhya Pradesh).
